Career Expo

The Tshwane Regional Mall recently hosted a successful Career Expo on the 3rd of May, aimed at providing students from three local schools with valuable insights and information to help them make informed decisions about their future career paths. This blog post highlights the event and discusses the potential impact of this campaign on the growth and development of the Mamelodi community.

Event Overview

The Career Expo at Tshwane Regional Mall brought together with a diverse group of local universities & businesses who were passionate about guiding and empowering students in their career choices. The event provided a platform for students to interact with professionals from various fields, offering them firsthand knowledge and insights into potential career paths.

Engaging Local Schools

The attendance of three local schools showcased the commitment of the community in supporting the educational development of its young members. By involving schools, the Career Expo ensured that a wide range of students had access to this valuable opportunity. It aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical career knowledge, equipping students with the tools they need to make informed decisions about their future.

Empowering Students

The main objective of the Career Expo was to empower students by providing them with information about various industries, career options, and the skills required to succeed in those fields. By engaging with industry professionals, students were able to gain valuable insights into different career paths and discover their own passions and interests. This exposure helps students make informed decisions about their academic pursuits and future career goals.

Impact on the Mamelodi Community

The campaign to expand the Career Expo and create more opportunities for students to engage with industry professionals has the potential to significantly impact the growth and development of the Mamelodi community. Here are some possible impacts:

1. Enhanced Career Guidance: The Career Expo provides a platform for students to access industry professionals who can offer guidance and insights into various career paths. This exposure can help students align their educational choices with their career aspirations, leading to better career outcomes in the long run.

2. Increased Awareness of Opportunities: By connecting students with professionals from different fields, the Career Expo broadens their understanding of the various opportunities available to them. This exposure encourages students to explore diverse career options, including those they may not have considered before, thus expanding their horizons.

3. Strengthened Local Workforce: Empowering students with knowledge and guidance can contribute to the development of a skilled local workforce. By helping students make informed decisions about their careers, the Career Expo can support the growth of industries in Mamelodi and create a pool of talented individuals who can contribute to the community's economic development.

4. Community Collaboration: The Career Expo brings together local schools, businesses, and industry professionals, fostering collaboration and partnerships within the community. These connections can lead to further initiatives and programs aimed at supporting the educational and career development of students, creating a positive cycle of growth and empowerment.

Conclusion

The Career Expo at Tshwane Regional Mall has successfully created a platform for students to access valuable career information and engage with industry professionals. By expanding this campaign, the mall aims to further impact the Mamelodi community by empowering students to make informed decisions about their career paths. Through enhanced career guidance and increased awareness of opportunities, this initiative has the potential to positively contribute to the growth and development of Mamelodi and its future workforce.

Risima Foundation is a Non-Profit Organisation founded by Nonhlanhla Sephula also Known as Nonhli. Nonhli was diagnosed with breast cancer on 5 th June 2021. She discovered she had a Lump on her breast while sitting at a restaurant with her children celebrating her son’s birthday. She made an appointment with her GP who then referred her to a mammogram and sonar test. She discovered how expensive it was and she couldn’t afford the mammogram and all the tests that goes with it. She realised the situation must be dire for most women in disadvantaged communities, thus she established RISIMA FOUNDATION. Nonhli is currently working hard to raise funds to purchase a mobile mammogram unit that she will drive to disadvantage communities around South Africa to offer affordable breast screening tests and education with hopes to save lives. We as Tshwane Regional Mall are so grateful and appreciate this initiative and we are fully thankful that she has chosen to bring the Mammogram at TRM first, to accommodate our Mams commuters. We are in full support and we hope the community will receive it well.

#MYTRM Nelson Mandela is celebrated every year worldwide. We celebrate this day by giving 67 minutes of our time in doing community work. We hope that in spite of all that struggles the country Is going through, we still were able to make a difference in someone’s life or family. A simple kind gesture can save a life. “The greatest good is what we do for one another” The country has been engulfed by riots and sporadic looting of shopping malls. Many Malls have been affected throughout Gauteng. With that being said, Tshwane Regional Mall was NOT part of the malls affected. We are very delighted and pleased that Tshwane Regional Mall still stands today. We are so grateful to Our security company, MAUDI SECURITY for spending sleepless nights making sure the Mall is kept safe and secure. We glad to announce the Mall now is fully operating with heavy security all around. We are indeed thankful.
